Remote Computer Support
Some Windows, software, browser, email, configuration, and troubleshooting issues can be resolved securely without transporting the computer.
Is remote support right for every computer problem?
No. Hardware failures, computers that will not start, storage failures, and many network issues require physical service. Remote support is best for an already-working computer that can connect to the internet.
Issues that may qualify
- Windows settings and configuration
- Software troubleshooting
- Browser and email problems
- Performance review on a functioning computer
- Basic security and update guidance
Security and privacy
Remote access should be initiated only with the customer’s permission and should end when the support session is complete. Do not send passwords through ordinary website forms.
When in-person repair makes more sense
If the computer will not boot, has a failing drive, needs physical upgrades, shows signs of hardware damage, or cannot maintain internet connectivity, in-person service is usually more appropriate.
